Follow Nature as closely as possible; all can be done except wave and current in the aquarium, but this could be duplicated with an airstone. Set up a non-toxic aquarium, collect and pour in real sea water of a density approximating 1.022. Don’t filter the water but keep the aerator running in order to keep the plankton living. Select nicely shaped corals from the sea that contain microscopic plants and sea-weeds, arrange the corals all over the bottom and with many hiding-places in the back. Never boil or bleach the corals; if you do, you kill all the necessary plants, worms and other marine animals which live among these corals and which are the very important things that help balance the aquarium. If you put in the right corals, within a day or two the water will become crystal clear, after which you may put in anemones for your Clownfishes. Depending on the size, your aquarium can be decorated with: small multicolored anemones, colored mushroom anemones, tube worms and live corals (brain corals, mushroom corals, etc.) and fishes, at least twice as many as your text-books recommend.29
