Preparing the playing area

Before all of the lessons, carefully place only the pieces you are going to use for the lessons on the table, one on each side of the board. Put nothing else on the table to distract the child. At this stage you want him to focus only on the board and the lesson piece. As you set up the playing area move the pieces slowly and carefully and with great attention, as you are the model for the child.
