Overcoming Superiority

While Spartacus is crucified at the end, he is a victorious hero. He has the integrity of knowing that he led an honorable life, he has the promise of a better life for his son, and he has the pride of knowing that his legacy of freedom will live on after him. His superiority is not the superiority of the dominating patricians, but the superiority of a former slave who broke his chains and lived the life of a free man.
