Rosacea

Acne

Recent information on acne is really interesting. In 1997, they came out with a statement in the medical community saying that adolescent acne is the result of peer pressure. It is not just the child being in puberty with their oil glands exploding-and presto-they have acne. What they have discovered for the most part is that adolescent acne is rooted in anxiety and fear coming out of peer pressure. Simple acne comes from fear of man. It is fear of rejection and fear of man. In puberty and adolescence, it is peer pressure and peer pressure is fear

I have six children and four are teenagers. I'll tell you, they are overly concerned about what their buddies think. Do you know what designer labels are? Kids are vicious with each other. Children are vicious and children are more afraid of their peers than they are of their parents.

This is why I try to get the children to know adults. I encourage them to fellowship so they can have alternative peer pressure. Then they are not just stuck with the tunnel vision of kids who maliciously shame them, but with adults who will love them.

There can be an antidote to this problem. This is my position. I want my children to grow up knowing adults, not just other children. I look for spiritual adults I can trust my children with.
