Covetousness and Greed

Greediness and covetousness can easily include our desire for things we think we need. Always ask yourself, “Is this something that God desires for me to have?” We are wise to ask only for those things that are for our eternal good and for the benefit of others around us.

His Supply Is Abundant

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). God is not stingy. He does not supply the needs of His beloved children with meagerness. His love and mercy and provision are overflowing.

When the Lord revealed Himself to Moses, He made a statement to Moses about His own character and nature:

And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin.”

—Ex. 34:6, 7 (emphasis added)

There is no end to the goodness that God desires to pour out on you as His beloved child. As you grow in your obedience to Him, you will experience an increasing supply of His blessing. Out of His infinite supply, He pours an infinite blessing!
