Main Points and New Interpretations

• Language does not occur in a vacuum. We cannot even talk about language without bringing 2 additional domains into the equation.

• We are each unique observers. We each interpret and “see things” in our own unique way. However, the observer that we each are is composed of three separate yet tightly inter-woven elements:

Our language (internal and external conversations)

Our moods and emotions

Our bodies, biology and physical movements.

• These 3 aspects are dynamic and ever-changing. They are not fixed and permanent. Each of these 3 impacts the other 2. Changes in our mood impact our language and our bodies. Changes in our conversations produce changes in our moods / emotions, as well as changes to our bodies and how we move. Doing different things physically has an impact on our language as well as our emotional state.

• Each of these 3 can be our starting point for bringing changes to our lives. We can take advantage of the power inherent in these connections. We can purposefully make changes in 1 area, knowing that the other 2 will be influenced as well. In this way, we can actively design ourselves.
