The front raise

The front raise is a great exercise for targeting your front deltoids but it has the added advantage of working the rest of the shoulder too. Use lighter weights than you may normally be used to. Hold them with your arms straight down, your palms inwards towards your thighs. Lift your arms slowly to shoulder level with the elbows bent a little. Breathe out as you lower back down. You can vary this by using a light barbell or alternating arms. The key is to use precise, slow motions. Repeat for 2–4 sets of 10–15 reps and rest for 30 seconds or so in between.
