¼ C white wine

2 T sesame oil

1¼ C water

4 C vegetable oil for frying

In a small saucepan, combine ¼ C honey, wine, and ¼ C water; cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Allow to cool. Combine honey mixture with flour and oil and knead dough for 3 minutes. Roll the dough to a thickness of ¼ inch and cut out flower shapes with cookie cutters. In a separate pot, combine the remaining 1 C honey and 1 C water and heat gently for 5 minutes. Allow to cool. Heat cooking oil in frying pan and deep-fry the flower cookies until they float to the top of the oil; immediately remove the cookies, transfer them to honey water, and allow them to soak for 24–48 hours.

YIELDS APPROXIMATELY 24 COOKIES.
