Make your own blush as light or dark as you please for glowing cheeks.

Powder Blush

What you need:

¼ teaspoon arrowroot powder

Pinch of rose or kaolin clay

1 teaspoon pigmented powder

pink hues: add more beetroot powder or pink mica

orange hues: add more annatto seed powder or orange mica

Bowl or cup

Sifter or fine mesh tea ball

Whisk or fork

Clean container with a lid

Safety glasses

Dust mask

How to make it:

Begin by putting on the safety glasses and dust mask for protection against the fine powders. Sift together the arrowroot powder, clay, and your pigmented powder. Use the whisk or fork to make sure it is all well blended. Test the powder out by dipping a clean brush into the finished product, tapping it on the side to remove excess, and then brushing onto your inner wrist for light complexions and the back of your hand for darker complexions. Add pigments, oxides, and powders to make the blush match the shade you were looking for. Even if you add only a pinch of powder, write it down so you can remember it later if you want to make more.
