Together, Castor and Polydeuces were known as the Dioscuri (from the Greek Dioskouroi) and were eventually placed in the sky as the constellation Gemini, the twins. The pair died and were made into gods before the Trojan War began and so didn’t partake in that more famous war waged over the ownership of their sister.

Once she was old enough, Clytemnestra married Agamemnon, the king of Mycenae. A short while later, Helen married Agamemnon’s brother, Menelaus, who, as her husband, took the title of king of Sparta. Helen and Clytemnestra would go on to become embroiled in the Trojan War each in their own way. Helen’s kidnapping by the Trojan prince Paris brought the two regions to war when Menelaus sought to bring her back with the help of his brother. While the men were away at war, Clytemnestra remained home in Mycenae, plotting her husband’s murder for the next ten years (Agamemnon had sacrificed their daughter for a bit of good wind!—see the entry on Clytemnestra and Her Children for more on Agamemnon’s murder).
