In the previous chapter; we talked about how long a woman should wait before expecting a proposal from her man. A man knows within a year if you are the one or (one of them). He knows whether you are the main lady of his life or the chick on the side. If you are caught in the middle of a situation like this here are a few pointers you can use to finally get closure and get on with your life.

When discussing the situation of commitment with your man, always allow him to present his case first. Then when presenting your case try to highlight the strong points of his side.

Always do things in a spirit of kindness and respect. By doing this you soften his natural defense mechanism and make it easier to present your side of the story.

Once you have presented your side of the story and he still has not presented you with a definite answer; here are 8 magic words that will practically always get you what you want or put closure on things.

Those words are “If you can’t do it, I’ll definitely understand.” And if you feel it’s appropriate, you can even add the words, “I don’t want you to be unhappy”.

When you say these powerful words, YOU HAVE TO MEAN IT! And be prepared to WALK AWAY AND GET ON with your life REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME! Don’t answer his calls, don’t answer your door, don’t do NOTHING, NATHAN, NADA!

Now this might sound like you are playing games with the man but in actuality THIS IS THE TRUE TEST of your strength, values, and dignity. It is very important that you not give in at this period BECAUSE IF YOU DO SO before this man has proven himself that you are THE ONE AND ONLY ONE; He will NEVER take you seriously and will forever procrastinate and go back on his word.

Good women are VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND, if he is a good man and has any kind of sense, he knows what he has. Your job is to LEAVE SO HE WILL KNOW WHAT HE HAD! This is not a punishment.

This is just life. If you don’t stand up for anything, you will fall for EVERYTHING! If he is a good man and he is meant for you, he will come back to you. If there is one thing that real men fear besides marriage; that is letting the woman of his life walk in and out of it.

There is no way a real man is going to allow his woman to be taken or pursued by another man (especially if you have been the supportive, caring, and sensitive to his needs). A real man is not going to let the best thing in his life just walk in and walk out.
