TIP
The curds of the cauliflower (the part that forms the head) are sensitive to both frost and sun, so pull some of the outer leaves over the head and tie them together to provide some protection.
Growing
Cauliflowers need lots of water, so donât allow the soil to become dry. Space is also essential; leave around 60cm between summer and winter varieties and 75cm between autumn varieties (or check the back of the packet). If the soil is acidic, add some lime to raise the pH. Harvest cauliflowers before the florets start to separate.
