It would be much easier to become a Benedictine, I imagine Bernard and Peter saying to each other.

I’d gladly vow to avoid women for the rest of my life. It is easier to say yes to chastity.

And yes to poverty too.

And yes to obedience. It is God’s will.

But this . . . this seems rather . . . unclear?

What will we do next?
