A right-hand strumming technique that involves first playing the single bass note of a chord followed by a strum of the rest of the chord.

Bass/Strum Methods

With a pick: Play a single bass string, then strum lightly downward across the remaining treble strings.

With the thumb: Pluck a single bass string with the thumb, then strum downward across the remaining treble strings with the fleshy part of the thumb.

With the thumb and fingers: Pluck a single bass note with the thumb, then strum downward across the treble strings with the fingernail of the index (and middle) fingers.
