“My first love was for words. As far back as I can remember, I was accompanied in my early days by solemnly spoken prayers and verses from the Bible. I felt them to be as much a vital necessity as the daily bread itself.” In these words we can hear the primal theme of the life of a man who worked, in quite a special way, out of the creative forces contained in language. As educator and composer of verses for the report cards of his pupils, Heinz Muller (1899-1968), a Waldorf teacher, was able to unite the powers of language, the force of the Logos, with education. His book Healing Forces in the Word and its Rhythms, published a year before he died, throws light upon his work.9 Wolfgang Schad found the following beautiful words for the new edition of this book: “The healing power of language and the use of it in pedagogy were motives for Heinz Müller that have imprinted themselves into his biography.” What form then did the transition in the ninth year take for this man?
