FWIP! FWIP! FWIP! Several stegosaurus-like plates burst out of the back of the high-tech hoodie.
Blue lights exploded from the plates in an electric arc.
ZRRRRRRT!
The stegosaurus-like plates were designed to absorb energy, like sunlight through a solar panel, and generate heat for the jacket. Through trial (and a whole lot of error), Mike had learned that the plates could absorb energy from anything giving off heat, like â
âFireflies,â Dino-Mike muttered to himself.
Mike realized that the Bones siblings had been using the mechanical, glowing orbs to keep the dinosaur warm and alive. He didnât want to harm the argentinosaurus. But if he could drain the energy from the fireflies, maybe the cold would shock the dinosaur out of the Bonesesâ control.
Dino-Mike activated the plates. They glowed with a bluish light. He could feel the plates tracking the heat spheres overhead. Then, blue electric-like arcs of energy shot out from the plates in all directions.
ZZZZZZRRRRRT!
The blue arcs latched onto the buzzing, heat-generating fireflies and sucked the energy out of them. The orbs quickly dimmed and fell from the sky.
The argentinosaurus stopped.
Mike looked down and could see the Bones siblings frantically moving their hands to get the dinosaur moving again.
His idea had worked! The cold snapped the dino out of the Bonesesâ control. But moments later, the dinosaur beneath Mike began to shiver and shake. The beast bucked like a wild bronco.
Dino-Mike could barely hold on!
