“Ahem,” said Professor Whale. “Hello, everyone. Today the sky is bluer than ever. The sea is blue, too. This makes me very happy. And I’m very happy that we can hold the Whale Point Olympics again. I will be even happier if it’s a very happy day for all of you, too. In fact, I’m sure it will be. Thank you.”

Everyone clapped.

“Next,” Professor Penguin said, “our special guest, Giraffe, will say a few words.”

When Giraffe stood up, everyone gasped to see how tall he was.

“Hello, everyone. I am Giraffe. I live in Africa. I’m Penguin’s friend. Thank you so much for inviting me today. I know I’m going to have a fantastic time. And I hope you do, too. Thank you.”

The crowd gave him a big hand, and those who had never seen a giraffe before, which was most of them, roared with delight.
