The Tao and Alchemy of Relationships

Relationships are amazing. Remember, I have been talking about process structure in terms of a triangle in chapter 5. At the top is you. Below that is your dreamland situation consisting of two or more overlapping states that we are calling u + X. Your processmind is not just yours but also overlaps and interacts with your friend’s processmind. Who you are is not just you. This essence area or processmind experience connects with the dreams of another person.

When you wake up close to your processmind in the morning, you might have some hunch about what your friend dreamed next to you. You should be able to guess their dreams before they even say good morning. Or, if you are not in relationship with somebody or not sleeping with somebody, think about somebody in the morning and call or email them in the morning and tell them what they dreamed. This could be an enjoyable relationship practice.

As I said in chapter 5, Jung spoke about this sense of nonlocality as synchronicity, which is an event characteristic of this deepest level. Synchronicity can occur because who you are at the deepest essence level is not just your physical body. The free dance experience of space-time dreaming can give you the sense of noncognitive, nonlocality. The Taoist sage in you senses this deepest level and understands the yin and yang overlap, or two-ness, of life in dreamland and consensus reality.
