Bind (cast) off.

Making up and finishing

• Fold the toadstool Cap in half widthwise with RS together and oversew the back seam using A. Fold the Stalk and Gills in half widthwise with RS together and oversew the lower and back seam using B. Turn both pieces RS out. Oversew the outer edge of Gill section to underside of Cap, just inside from edge, leaving a gap for stuffing. Stuff quite firmly and sew the gap closed. Using white thread, sew white buttons onto the cap. Sew the hanging cord in place and thread the free end onto the split key ring.

• Fold the Leaf pieces in half widthwise with WS together and oversew round edges using C. Fold the Petal strip in half lengthwise with WS together so holes along the middle form a wavy edge. Oversew along lower edge using D. Fold back 1 in. (2.5 cm) along one short edge of Petal piece and oversew along bottom. Fold the remainder of the Petal strip around the folded part, oversewing in place as you go. Sew the Leaves in place. Using cream thread, sew the button in the center of the flower. Sew the hanging cord in place and thread the free end onto the split key ring.
