MATERIALS

Worsted-weight yarn in gray (approx 125 yds), ivory (approx 15 yds), and black (approx 5 yds)

Size G-6 (4 mm) crochet hook 8 mm or 9 mm black plastic eyes with safety backings

Tapestry needle

Stuffing

Stitch markers to indicate beginning of rnds (optional)

HEAD

Using gray yarn, make an 8-st adjustable ring (page 12).

Rnd 1: Sc 2 in each sc around. (16 sts)

Rnd 2: *Sc 3, sc 2 in next sc; rep from * 3 more times. (20 sts)

Rnds 3–5: Sc 20.

Rnd 6: *Sc 3, sc2tog; rep from * 3 more times. (16 sts)

Rnd 7: Sc2tog 8 times. (8 sts)

Rnd 8: In fl, *sc 1, sc 2 in next sc; rep from * 3 more times. (12 sts)

Rnd 9: In fl, sc 2 in each sc around. (24 sts)

Rnds 10 and 11: Sc 24.

Rnd 12: Sc2tog 2 times, sc 4, hdc 2, dc 2, pm, dc 2, hdc 2, sc 4, sc2tog 2 times. (20 sts) (The marker will indicate which side of the head should face up.)

Rnd 13: Sc2tog, sc 4, hdc 2, dc 4, hdc 2, sc 4, sc2tog. (18 sts)

Rnd 14: Sc 5, hdc 2, dc 4, hdc 2, sc 5. (18 sts)

Rnd 15: *Sc 4, sc2tog; rep from * 2 more times. (15 sts)

Rnd 16: *Sc 3, sc2tog; rep from * 2 more times. (12 sts) Stuff head.

Rnd 17: Sc2tog 6 times. (6 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Close up hole unless using plastic eyes.
