Gingerbread Man Christmas Ornament
Crochet Front and Back (make alike).
MATERIALS:
- Two Different Color Yarn (One Ball)
- Yarn Needle (Size 4mm)
- Buttons and Beads
INSTRUCTIONS:
First Leg
With COLOR A, chain six.
First Round (Right Side): One single crochet in the second chain from the hook. Do one single crochet in each chain to the end of the chain. Turn. Five single crochet.
Second Round: Chain one. Do one single crochet in each single crochet across. Turn. Repeat the last row four more times. Fasten off.
Second Leg
Repeat work given for the first leg. Do not fasten off at the end of the last row.
Next Row (Right Side, Joining Row): Chain one. Do one single crochet in each single crochet of the second leg. Chain one. Then add one single crochet in each single crochet of the first leg. Turn. Eleven single crochet.
Next Row: Chain one. Add one single crochet in each single crochet across. Turn.
Repeat the last row ten more times. Fasten off.
Head
First Round: With the right side of the work facing, miss the first three single crochet. Join yarn with a slip stitch in the next single crochet. Chain one. One single crochet in the same space as the last slip stitch. Do one single crochet in each of the next four single crochet. Turn. Leave the remaining stitches unworked. Five single crochet.
Second Round: Chain one. Two single crochet in the first single crochet. Do one single crochet in each of the next three single crochet. Two single crochet in the last single crochet. Turn. Seven single crochet.
Third Round: Chain one. Add on a single crochet in each single crochet across. Turn.
Fourth Round: Chain one. Second single crochet in the first single crochet. Do a single crochet in each single crochet to the last single crochet. Two single crochet in the last single crochet. Turn. Nine single crochet.
Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Rounds: Repeat the third round.
Eighth Round: Chain one. (Draw up a loop in the next stitch) twice. Yarn over hook and draw through all three loops on the hook – single crochet two stitches together made. One single crochet in each single crochet to the last two single crochet. Single crochet two stitches together over the last two single crochet. Turn. Seven single crochet.
Ninth Round: Chain one. Single crochet two stitches together over the first two single crochet. Add one single crochet in each of the next two single crochet. Single crochet two stitches together over the last two single crochet. Fasten off.
Place markers on the side edges of body, about 11⁄4 inches below the shoulder.
Right Arm
With the right side of work facing, join the yarn with a slip stitch at the right shoulder. Chain one. Work five single crochet evenly between shoulder and marker.
First Round: Chain one. Add a single crochet in each single crochet across. Turn. Five single crochet.
Repeat the last round three more times.
Second Round: Chain one. Single crochet two stitches together over the first two single crochet. Do one single crochet in the next single crochet. Single crochet two stitches together over the next two single crochet.
