Jim jerked around. “What?”

“Look at it. Marie Clamons and her family’s troubles are the middle of it. Sort of like a web out. Several people hurt her and her children badly; the bank who took the house, the teacher who bought it, the ex whose already dead, the school where her child was teased. Look at the quilt she made and what we have. The middle was her family disintegrating. All the places she was surrounded by when her kids were growing up, all the buildings have been hit. The original courthouse was blown to bits-that’s where the official auction was held. I don’t think the library was the target there, it was ancillary to blowing the courthouse to Kingdom come. The other places-remember how they were held together by the graffiti that looked like quilting lines? The entire town was in her quilt and they have all been attacked in some way. The descendants of the people who hurt her were all hit; Brad’s dad had to hold the auction. His son was kidnapped and has been stalked, his fiancé kidnapped. David Hershberger’s father bought her beloved sewing machine-his son was kidnapped. Miriam worked for Suzanne; the daughter of the lady who had originally arranged for Marie’s quilt to be shown to the museum who bought it. Suzanne’s son was attacked but fought it off. Looking at the quilt and looking at the history Brad and the Mayor provided for us, my best guess for an attack is going to be the present courthouse where all the records are kept. The records of the embarrassment of losing their home. It’s all to do with that one family.”
