It started in 2001 when I was eleven years old. I was on the beach at night shooting off fireworks to impress my friends. And this old lady comes out and starts screaming at me about how the lights we’re shining are messing with the sea turtles’ vision of the moon so that they’re not going to be able to get back down to the water. And being with my friends and a punk eleven-year-old kid, I said, “Get out of here, you old lady.”
