STEP 1: Use the ball-peen end of a chasing hammer or a small embossing hammer to forge one side of each copper washer on a bench block. This will create surface texture and add interest to these components.

STEP 2: Use the fine tip on the small embossing hammer to create tiny dimples on the outer edges of the copper washers.

STEP 3: Turn the washers over exposing their plain sides and use an indelible marker to draw three dots as shown.

STEP 4: Using these marks as a guide, punch small holes using a small metal hole punch.
