If everything went according to plan, your result should look like figure 2.110, and you can knock the finished piece out of the blank. Remove any remaining dust and dirt from in and around the machine. You are now officially ready to roll. Remember to regrease your machine after two hours of operation.

3Milling Tools

To produce successful milling results, you need to know a lot about the tools and raw materials you use. Simply taking the next best tool and forcing it into a blank at top speed is just as ineffectual as machining too slowly. Both approaches cause excess tool wear and unnecessary costs as a result. Incorrect use of tools also reduces the precision and quality of the parts you produce.
