If this is your first pregnancy, the likelihood is that your bump will take a little while to show, but that’s certainly not the case for everyone. While I was kept waiting until around 18 weeks to be able to see anything significant, some of my friends started showing at around 10 weeks. As with everything in pregnancy, it is unhelpful to make comparisons but it is also so difficult not to, especially in your first pregnancy when everything is new.

When your bump starts to show, it launches you into that awkward phase of people wondering whether you are pregnant or whether you’ve just had a big lunch! So that was when I wore baggy jumpers all the time. Perhaps this is why women often decide to wear a baby on board badge early on, to avoid any uncertainty, but I just decided to wear loose and comfortable clothes until the bump made an appearance.
