Chain pattern 2

Weave the working thread around so it is coming out of the third main color bead after the first 4mm pearl of the strap. Pick up three main color beads and go back through the main color bead the thread originally exited from on the opposite side. This creates a picot.

Weave up to the third bead of the next set of five beads and repeat. Repeat this pattern until you reach the end of the strap.

Chain pattern 3

Weave the working thread through the end beads and come out of the third main color bead on the other side from where the last picot was created.

Pick up three main color beads and go back through the main color bead the thread originally exited from on the opposite side. This creates another picot across from the one previously made. Repeat making these picots until the other half of the strap has picots.

Repeat chain pattern 1–3 on the other side for the second half of the strap; however, instead of adding an 8mm bead, add a loop of main color beads that fits comfortably but snugly over the clasp bead.
