Concluding comments

In supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as professional managers of their land and sea countries in the contemporary context, the proven benefits of IPAs and dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ranger programs deserve and require long-term commitments in maintaining and sustaining Australia’s unique island, marine and terrestrial environments.
