The Song with a Vision for the Realm of Reality composed by great master Dīpaṃkaraśrījñāna is completed. Translated by the very same Indian abbot and the Tibetan translator, the monk Tsultrim Gyalwa.

CHAPTER 7

Lamp for the Summary of Conduct

Lamp for the Summary of Conduct is a brief text of twenty-one stanzas that outline daily practices according to the Mahāyāna way of the perfections. While Atiśa and his entourage stayed in Nepal on the way to West Tibet, they resided for a month with a Nepalese sthavira monk who was deaf. The monk requested a teaching on the perfections but he did not wish to follow the way of mantras. In the teaching Atiśa emphasized that both, mantras along with the perfections, lead to awakening, but then focused on the Perfection Path of the bodhisattva.
