TAKE A BREAK WITH STANDING COBRA
This posture is great for an office break.
1. Face the wall and place your hands at shoulder height, pressing them against the wall. Spread your fingers, feeling them press into the wall, and bring your elbows close to your rib cage.
2. Slowly lean forward, leaning until your body is pressed against the wall and your forehead is resting on the wall. When you press your forehead onto the wall, you will be stimulating the third eye. Stay here for a few breaths with your eyes closed.
3. Inhale and press firmly into your hips. Exhale, lift your heart center as though you want to press it up toward the ceiling, and arch your back, letting your head reach back, opening your throat, and lengthening from your hips all the way up the front of your body. Think about the arch being in the upper back and not the lower back. Keep your neck long and not crunched. Stay for a few breaths.
4. Bring your forehead back to the wall on the exhale. Do this “wall cobra” a few times.
