STRATEGY
THE KEY TO SUCCESS
Itâs one thing to know what you are called to do. Itâs another thing to know how you are supposed to do it. Strategy comes from the Greek word strateÌgia, which means a high level plan to achieve one or more goals under conditions of uncertainty.
Skilled strategists are highly sought out individuals. Big business and marketing companies realize that their success depends largely upon the best strategy. History has proven that countries with fewer troops and less resources can come out victorious over larger, more sophisticated armies simply because they have a better strategy.
In todayâs business world, a strategic thinker is one who can discover innovative and resourceful strategies, which often reshape the competitive landscape. In essence, one who can develop effective strategy provides the competitive edge that businesses crave and success demands.
God has been using strategic thinking since before the creation. His strategy always succeeds, even when it looks like it has failed. His plans always arise triumphant. The crucifixion looked like it was the lowest point in Godâs plan of redemption. It seemed as though all was lost. Yet all the while, Godâs strategy was in motion. Through His death on the cross, Jesus became triumphant over the grave. He snatched the keys of death, hell and the grave from Satan and saints of old were resurrected with Him. You and I were raised with Him and seated in Heavenly places. What a strategy!
âA wisdom, which not one of the leaders of the present age possesses, for if they had possessed it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.â
1 Corinthians 2:8 Weymouth
Whenever God gives you a dream or vision, it requires strategy to follow. In other words, in order to see the vision come to pass and the dream fulfilled, Godâs plan must be followed. Following Godâs strategy for each step and each assignment in your life is the key to your success. Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:17 that we would have a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God.3
Increase comes supernaturally when divine strategy is employed. The prophet Jeremiah shared Godâs promise of success, ââFor I know the plans (strategies) I have for you,â declares the Lord, âplans (strategies) to prosper you andâ¦to give you hope and a futureââ (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV, explanation mine). Divine strategy is revealed when we stay sensitive to the Spirit of God, the Divine Orchestrator. Strategy is a bi-product of being led by the Spirit.
Divine strategy is working with God to achieve the dream He has placed in your heart. I have walked into challenging situations before, feeling invincible because Godâs strategy was made clear to me. Sure, opposition may arise, but because I have confidence in the plan, nothing can stop me. I am able to face the opposition without flinching. There is a tendency for believers to do what has been done before, just because it was successful. They fail to receive Godâs current strategy for their assignment. Waiting for Godâs essential strategies will make all the difference between success and failure.
