A Is for Analyze

There was no way I could have predicted the outcome of my dark-thirty morning meetings with Jesus. I was ill informed about myself. Life was not about me, my happiness, or my comfort. Poor Jesus. He had to start at the basics with this girl. I can imagine Him looking up at the Father to say, “We’ve got a long way to go with this one.”

I’m thankful that foresight isn’t as clear as hindsight, because if I had seen the ride I was about to take, I would have quit before I ever got started. Girlfriend to girlfriend? This journey isn’t for the faint of heart, but God knows that you are up for the mission. Others have gone before you and persevered. They serve as examples that saying yes to God and no to self is the only way to fully experience God’s richest and most bountiful blessings. God knew that Noah would withstand the test of time to complete the ark, that Moses would get over his stuttering to become a great leader, and that Esther would rise to the occasion to save her people. And He knows you have what it takes to live the plan He created for you.

As I have taken a look back at my journey and studied the steps it took me to accept the new image God had for me, I’ve realized that the issues that keep us out of alignment with God’s plan can be categorized into three concealers: strongholds, self-centeredness, and self-sufficiency. I’m so excited to tell you that the remedy for what conceals our image has already been written. We don’t have to search Google or look through our Bible concordance; it is found in a verse we briefly discussed earlier. The correction to our concealers is found in 2 Timothy 1:7: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” Not only do we know what the Spirit does not give us, but we know what He does give us. Oh, Peter was so right when he wrote, “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness” (2 Pet. 1:3). Isn’t our Daddy awesome! He has already equipped us for success. Praise Him!

Victory is yours! God gives! He gives!

For all the word nerds, this chart is for you. We can’t possibly move forward without defining those three concealers (thank you, Dictionary.com for helping us with the definitions) and unveiling how God has prepared correctors to adjust our misalignment (with thanks to Biblehub.com and Helps Word Studies). 2
