What about you? Does the challenge confronting you right now seem too big for God? Nothing is impossible with Him. You have an opportunity right now to exercise trust on a higher level than you ever have before. That trust begins by noticing and acknowledging all that He has already done. The ditch you landed in could have been much deeper but for the grace of God. Trust Him to do great things. It’s the first step to getting direction from Him.

Let’s be clear though: trusting isn’t about clinging blindly to the outcome you want. It’s about asking God to show you the next step, to help you discover where to go from here—even if you don’t get the outcome for which you prayed. Some aspects of your life may never return to normal, at least not “normal” as you knew it before you landed in the ditch. Will you trust God fully and go with His plan even if you don’t understand it? Will you refuse to rely on your own understanding? Will you acknowledge Him? If you answer yes to these three questions, Proverbs 3:5–6 promises He will direct your paths.

With that in mind, it’s time to tackle the question of where you will go from here. Let’s begin with any divine nudges you may sense in your spirit. What do you sense God is telling you about where you should go from here? Is He telling you to get back to your old path as soon as you can? Or is He nudging you toward something new or different—a new career path, a move to a new city, or a change in your lifestyle habits? Record what you’re hearing from Him.
