One of the keys to playing your best in sports is to play with confidence. Some people yield to fear, self-doubt, insecurity, concern for what the spectators think, etc., and it ruins their performance on the field. You have to remember your training, physical conditioning, practicing, and what your coaches have told you, and then get control of yourself in the game. You have to stay alert, aware of what is happening in the game and ready to deal with anything that comes your way.

It is time for you to take charge of your spiritual life the same way. One of the devil’s tactics is to make people believe they have no choice in the direction of their lives. Having no voice in your own affairs is like playing a baseball game without knowing where the bases are!

If you believe you have no choice in matters pertaining to your life, then when things like a divorce come along, you will buy it with no questions asked. When calamity comes along, you will accept it. When sickness comes, you will receive it. This is not God’s will!

There are things you can do to cause God’s favor to come your way and reverse the negative situations in your life. God wants you to be in control of your own life. Some people have had the mistaken idea that God will take over their life and run it like a robot! The only one I know who takes charge of other people’s lives like that is the devil. He desires to take away your will with drugs, alcohol, immorality, mind science religions, deceit, and seduction. once your will is out of the way, the devil can manipulate and control you as he wills.

Having no voice in your own affairs is like playing a baseball game without knowing where the bases are!

But God wants your will to be submitted to His will! He wants you to take charge of your life. You are not on a runaway horse! The reins are not dragging the ground. It is time for you to grab hold of the reins and cause the situations you are facing to go the way they are supposed to go!

When Sharon and I were first married, we moved into a little garage apartment that we leased for $65 a month, all bills paid. That fall, I got hold of some reading material that was about “the coming economic crash.” It told how there were going to be terrible, oppressive times in America. It was built around a spiritual thought, so it seemed to me that it was likely to happen.

The book said there would be so little food that there would be roving gangs of people trying to get something to eat. It would be a frightening time. People would have their houses broken into just so people could steal food.

I got to reading that book and I started believing it. I began thinking, “This is going to happen anytime.” We
