Jesus Manifests What God Is Like

Jesus is the visible manifestation of God’s character. When we look at Jesus, we see the ability, goodness, work, love, perfection, and timing of God. As the disciples watched Jesus, they learned about the character and power of God. They marveled in the calm following the storm and at Jesus’ authority over the elements of nature. They saw His love and devotion to them when He, without hesitation, stood on the deck of the ship and saved them.

As we recognize the virtues of God demonstrated in Jesus and believe that He is alive, He is able, He is good, He will work, He loves us, His ways are perfect, and His timing is impeccable, we are in the process of transferring the greatest measure of our faith into His account—an account of faith that will never fail.

The other things we trust in are bound to fail in the great storms of our lives. But God made it so that our greatest trust would rest in Him. Jesus is waiting for us to ask Him to intervene, and He is willing to calm the storms in our lives.
