Chapter 22 – Xander

You better have your shit under control when Ransom gets here, Ash. He’s pissed that you threatened Kiema, I said down our twin pathway.

I did no such thing. Why the fuck did you throw me under the bus like that? He said.

I rocked back in my chair. He’s fucking with me, surely.

Are you fucking high right now? You said if something happened to the girl, that you were coming for Kiema.

The fuck you say. I would never do something like that to Ki-Ki. I could hear the anger and offense ringing in his voice.

Could he be this far gone over this chick? He didn’t even know that he’d gotten in Kiema’s face. I switched to a different keyboard and screen. Hitting keys faster than lighting strikes, I pulled up and copied the cam feed outside the conference room on the first floor. I winced when I saw my twin loom over the woman we considered our baby sister.

Ransom was going to throw a shit storm of epic proportions.

I backed up the feed. Saint was a hair’s breadth away from ripping Asher to shreds.

I zoomed in on Saint’s hands. Yup. Fucking claws longer than a steak knife.

My idiot brother didn’t know how far he’d fallen into the fucking pit with this woman.

I toggled the switch for the warehouse comm system. “If everyone is up for it, Ransom would like a group meeting in the conference room on the main floor of the warehouse. They’ll be back shortly.” I flipped the switch off.

I wasn’t going to leave myself open for a verbal beating from my brother that others could hear. He wanted to rip me a new asshole, he could do it in the privacy of our own minds.

Are you his errand boy now, Xan? Kissing ass to the head honcho? Asher’s voice tumbled through my head. Rage and hate licking each word.

That was enough. You sound like dad right now, you fucking asshole. Keep it up, I’ll have that chick out of here faster than you can say fuck. Get your fucking head on straight. Or I swear to Gaia, I’ll help Ransom take it off your shoulders.

Unwavering silence was his only answer.
