Chapter 7

Taylor did not have any problems out of Alex after the night of Stacey’s party. He’d made attempts to explain himself, but quickly gave up when Taylor ignored those attempts. To her knowledge he had not been lurking around; which she was happy about.

Taylor was relieved to be done with the shenanigans of Alex and his brother; both turned out being a pain in her ass. She didn’t worry about Alfred though, because she still had his balls in a sling with the video.

“Ms. Jones, I’m about to go to lunch. I’m going to the Starbucks around the corner. Would you like to go with or want me to bring you something back?” Megan said to Taylor.

“I’m good Megan. Thanks for asking.”

“Are you sure? You look like you can go for an iced coffee. It’s a nice day out. You need to get out of this office,” Megan said in a coaxing tone.

“Ok… Let me get my purse.”

The Starbucks was only a block away so the ladies decided to walk. Damn, these are thousand dollar shoes. Hope I don’t scuff them, Taylor thought as they walked down the sidewalk.

“It’s a nice day,” Megan said smiling. Taylor enjoyed being around Megan because she had a bubbly personality. Between her personality and her work ethic Taylor loved having Megan as an assistant.

“Yes it is. Thanks for pulling me out of the office.”

The ladies reached the Starbucks that was packed with the professionals that worked in the area. After a lengthy wait Taylor and Megan were able to order. She’d just paid for her and Megan’s ice coffee and Panini sandwiches when she ran into a gentleman as she turned from the counter.

“Oh, excuse me. My apologies.”

“No problem,” the man said. He towered over Taylor at six feet three, evenly tanned skin, a gorgeous smile, and amazing sky blue eyes.

“You can bump into me anytime beautiful,” he said shooting her his perfect smile.

I know this white boy is not flirting with me, she thought.

“I’m Philip by the way and you are?” he said extending his hand.

“Taylor,” she said reaching to shake his hand.

“Nice to meet you.”

“Yes. Well my apologies again for bumping into you. You have a nice day.”

Taylor walked off to her table leaving Philip speechless. Though Taylor caught Philip watching her a few times she ate her sandwich and drunk her iced coffee as if he was invisible. She did not entertain his flirting because he was not her type. Not only had she never dated outside of her race, but he was dirty. Philip was a construction worker who was working on the building next door to Starbucks.

Taylor remained engaged in Megan’s conversation. Though Megan was a good girl she stayed having man problems. That along with her lack of extra money made her a great candidate for escorting. Too bad I don’t mix my day and night world cause I’d put her on. Taylor gave Megan the “it’ll all work out” speech and they left and went back to their office.
