Hazel

The moment my sister froze I knew something wasn't right. My mom told me she would have black outs and since I didn't know what they looked like I had to get my brother’s attention. He was on the other side of the room torturing the hell out of the guy. Her words didn't come out but I heard the dude say he was sorry and I automatically knew who he was. Miguel was so angry that the two appeared to know one another he missed the sign. Oh but once he found out it was like the devil himself came out. He was beating him so bad Violet jumped up to stop him.

"Why are you stopping me? What, you want this nigga V?" I was shocked when she smacked him. No matter what he did to her she had never lain hands on him.

"I love you to death Miguel and I'm sorry I put my hands on you but don't you ever in your life let those words come out of your mouth again. Do you really think I want a man that raped me? I know you're upset but you need to think about shit before you say it." Ricardo, Carlos, and Joe looked at me and I looked at my brother who stood there with no reaction. You couldn't tell if he was mad or what which made all of us nervous.

"Hazel, I'm going home. Can I take your car?" I handed her my keys.

"Violet I think it's best if you stay over Hazel’s house tonight," Miguel said and went to go in the other room to calm down I guess.

"Miguel." He didn't answer and kept walking.

"MIGUEL RODRIGUEZ." He stopped when she screamed out his entire name.

"WHAT VIOLET?" He turned around and waited for her to speak.

"I'm going to our house and I expect you there by midnight. Don't make me come looking for you because it won't be nothing nice." He turned around and didn't say a word.

"DID YOU HEAR ME MIGUEL?" she shouted.

"Yes Violet, damn. Go home." My mouth dropped open when he agreed. I've never ever in my life seen a woman have that much control over him. I'm sure it was bothering the hell out of him.

"Don't let him kill him yet Hazel. I have my own questions."

"Bitch let me find out you got the JUICE now." She threw her head back, laughing.

"That nigga know what it is. He brought the old Violet out and she plays NO GAMES. He better recognize." I couldn't help but laugh. I went back inside after she pulled off and went towards the room my brother was in.

"Yo’, who would've thought a woman would have his ass in check?" Ricardo said to all of us.

"I know right. Let me go in here and check on him.” I saw him looking down on his phone with his face snarled up.

"WHAT V?" He answered the phone that started to ring in his hand.

"Alright damn. I said I was sorry.
