Chapter 13

Life’s a Bitch

Sonny stormed through his house like a madman. He couldn’t believe one of his stash houses had been blown up, and his right-hand man had been killed during the explosion. Celeste thought she was smart by having Kidd pick her up from one of Sonny’s stash houses, thinking no one would be able to find her there, and she had inadvertently brought more drama to his doorstep.

“What the fuck is going on!” Sonny exploded, looking at the so-called killers seated in front of him. No one dared answered his question. Everyone looked around, waiting for someone to break the silence.

“Somebody say something, ’cause I need to know how in the fuck one man can do this much damage!” Still he got no answers, and this only infuriated him more. But he knew the answer to his question. He knew Moochie was an undercover menace. Mr. Jackson used to tell him the horror stories of what Moochie used to do to his victims. There were three men in attendance, but he had started out with six, seven including his longtime friend who was now gone.

“We can’t seem to find him. I think he may have some help,” one of the would-be killers said.

Boom!

The shot resonated through the house. Sonny had decorated the room with the man’s brains before he could say another word. The remaining men sat terrified. For one, they had no protection; they had been searched and stripped of any ammunition at the gate. And, two, the look in Sonny’s eyes said he was ready to send them to their Maker. His boyishly good-looking facial features were turned into a mask of rage.

“I don’t pay you muthafuckas to think; I pay you stupid fucks to find and kill! And it doesn’t seem as though you all can do that.” Sonny looked around, highly disappointed at the help he had hired.

“Moochie has a best friend that might know how to find him,” another would-be killer stated quickly.

Sonny looked at him. “Well, what the hell you sitting looking in my fucking face for?” he yelled. The men quickly gathered their things and got out of there.

Sonny sat back down once everyone had gone. It felt like everything around him was crumbling down, and the brothers were the cause of all his grief. First they had killed his uncle and cousin; now he couldn’t find Celeste. He knew if Moochie got a hold of her, he wouldn’t find her at all. Then they went on to kill his best friend, and they blew up a good portion of his dope and money. He couldn’t understand how two niggers could cause so much damage to a person who was supposed to be untouchable.

Sonny didn’t know the whole story on what went down between his uncle and the brothers, but he knew that at the end, everything had gone wrong, terribly wrong. He needed his uncle back for guidance; they stole his life away for nothing. He had never liked Kidd in the first place.
