THE FOUR LOADED buses arrived at the farm at three minutes past midnight. Sam told her Uncle Phillip and the others waiting what the new plan was, and to close up the mine entrance behind them once the people were inside.

"Your aunt and sister are going to be upset by this sudden change in plans," her Uncle Phillip said, looking worried himself.

Sam smiled. "That's why you're not going to tell them until we've left."

The volunteers off-loaded the women and children and moved them into the mine as Sam and her team browsed over the map and information on their next target. "This is Jed's old farm," Frank said.

"Now we know why they are so eager to take everyone's property," Douglas grumbled.

"If this is right, we will be facing thirty-two guards. That is right at double what we have already encountered." Sam frowned, feeling the effects of little sleep.

"It's not too late to back out," Frank offered.

Sam let out a lungful of air as she tilted her neck back. She knew that this was the best time to strike, but if she led these men to their deaths, she could never live with herself.

Douglas looked at Sam warmly. "We know what we are getting into, Sam. I think I speak for everyone when I say that if this is my time to go then it's my time."

"Let's just see what happens," Frank grinned.
