Coffee Crunch Chocolate Ice Cream with Bourbon Fudge Ripple

Summer in the Midwest is not summer without ice cream. It’s always been a tradition to stop at the local ice-cream stand (or drive-up) on the way back from a sun-drenched day at the lake. It’s important that you use fresh milk, cream, and eggs for this recipe since it’s the base; try getting your dairy supplies from the farmers’ market, where you know it’ll be fresh and from humanely treated cows.

I buy my dairy products from Traders Point Creamery, which is right outside of Indianapolis, because you can visit the farm and see exactly how the animals live and are treated. After visiting the farm several times and getting up close with the cows, meeting the farmers, and walking their huge garden, I couldn’t imagine wanting to support any other dairy farm.

This ice cream features chocolate-covered coffee beans and ribbons of alcoholic fudge. Enjoy it in a big waffle cone or eat it straight from the container. However you decide to eat it, this recipe is not to be missed.
