Chapter Eighteen

Remy was utterly void of words.

“Speechless, are we?” He slid his thumb over her jaw. “Good.”

Kirion took her hand in his and led her down the hallway. She was still in a lust-filled haze but noticed he went an unfamiliar way. This walkway wasn’t plain like the others. The walls matched the rest of the hotel, as did the dark wood flooring. It was an upgrade, which made her think this was his private walkway. When they reached the end of the hallway, she saw an elevator. He motioned for her to enter and followed closely behind.

Before the doors closed completely, he pressed her against the wall and claimed her lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. He responded with a low moan. Kirion towered over her, his arms boxing her in. Remy barely noticed when the private elevator chimed. A second later, the doors opened.

They stepped inside a small white room with another door and keypad. Kirion paused their kiss as he entered the pin code but kept one arm wrapped around her. He released the lock, and they entered his penthouse.

He flipped on the lights.

She covered her mouth with her hands and tried to maintain her composure.

Remy glanced out at the Strip through panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. Lavish didn’t even begin to describe the elegance of the interior. Hues of gold and cream, gilt-framed mirrors, abstract paintings that were likely originals, claw-foot nightstands, and low-hanging chandeliers with baseball-sized crystal teardrops dripping from the ceiling.

Kirion lived like a king.

“You’ve got serious interior design skills,” Remy gushed. “If I lived here, I’d never want to leave.”

“I have my sister to thank,” he admitted. “Sonya worked closely with a team of designers.”

“Do you mind if I look around?”

“No, not at all.”

She strode past the industrial-designed kitchen and headed toward one of the two bedrooms. She admired the massive four-poster bed with the fluffy cream-colored pillows and gold comforter. The color scheme remained throughout. To her left was a bathroom. It was similar to the one in her hotel bedroom, complete with a soaking tub and mixed shower big enough for at least four people.

She found the French doors that led to a private backyard on the right. Kirion had an oversized terrace, sauna, garden, and a private L-shaped bar. She couldn’t hold back her squeal when she saw the cantilevered pool that extended over the building’s edge. All around were comfy chaise lounge chairs and umbrellas.

Seriously, why did he ever leave this heavenly place? It made no sense. If she lived here, someone would need to physically remove her each day; otherwise, she’d stay forever. She bent down to feel the water inside a hidden pool. The warm liquid gave off a different aroma than the much larger pool. This tiny thing was barely enough for two people.

“Is that salt I’m smelling?” she questioned.

“That’s right,” Kirion agreed, startling her. “It’s a Japanese onsen. In the United States, they are more commonly known as hot springs. They have medicinal properties.
