“Who was that woman?”

Inside the house, Melissa had been watching through the kitchen window, unseen by anyone.

She had caught the end of the scene with Trina, and watched as John tended to her friend.

Melissa was filled with conflicting thoughts and emotions.

She was angry at Maria, for giving in so completely to this man they didn’t know anything about. She was angry at Lisa for knowing him before knowing her, although Melissa realized that made no sense at all. She was jealous of John, for being such a trusted part of Lisa’s life, and such an influential part of Maria’s. She was also angry at the lewd display that had just gone on behind the house, in front of Trina of all people.
