Chapter 11

Shaniqua had been laying around feeling extra tired lately and not being able to keep anything down since she had been back from visiting her hometown almost three weeks ago. She was pretty sure she was pregnant with Ronny’s baby being that he dicked, her down that whole time she was there without a condom. She didn’t know how she was gonna tell Dre that she cheated on him with the same nigga she cried on his shoulders about.

“Well I’m off to work boo and I’ll drop Ray’Shun off at Brookes’ house,” Dre said walking over taking a seat on the bed beside her. Her and his cousin Brooke had become close and sometimes they would take turns keeping each other kids.

“Okay. I’m about to get up,” she said slanging the covers back.

Shaniqua walked in her sons room and smiled at him sitting on the bed watching TV.

“Hey mama’s big man,” she said kissing him on the forehead.

“Hey mama, I’m going over to Auntie Brookes’ house,” he said happily. He loved going over there playing with her three kids.

“Yeah I know and you better be good for her too,” she said walking them to the door “Mama going to come pick you up later,” she said and after kissing her son and her man she shut the door behind her and headed upstairs to dress and go to the doctor.

6 months later

Things between Shaniqua and Dre were going well. Although his mother still didn’t like her and honestly, Shaniqua didn’t care. She supposedly had overheard Shaniqua telling Brooke that she was a stripper and that’s how she met Dre. Shaniqua knew she didn’t overhear anything; her ass was just eavesdropping. Like she had told Ronny in the beginning of their relationship “I don’t care if your mom like me or not. You do and that’s all that matters. That’s your mom, not mines,” she told Dre the same thing.

She looked down at her swollen belly and gave a faint smile. She was 8 months pregnant with a little girl. She learned that she was already going on 3 months pregnant when she last slept with Ronny. Shaniqua felt like shit as her mind flashed back to the day when she went back home to visit. Had she known she was pregnant there was no way she would have been out there showing her ass fighting. Not only was she there fighting but she was out there fucking her ex while pregnant with another man’s baby. “What kind of mother am I?” she questioned herself.

This should be a happy moment in her life. She had a handsome and smart son, a loving and caring man that was so good to her and treated her like a queen and she had a healthy baby girl that would be here in a couple of weeks. But why did she still feel empty on the inside? Like a part of her was missing. It seems the further along she gets in her pregnancy the sadder she become.
