Ingredients

1 pound (90 percent lean) grass-fed ground beef

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 (6-ounce) can organic tomato paste

1 (28-ounce) can diced organic tomatoes, no salt added

4 garlic cloves, chopped

4 large carrots, sliced

2 red bell peppers, diced

2 green bell peppers, diced

1 tablespoon dried thyme

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon chili powder

In a medium sauté pan, cook ground beef until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain and place in slow cooker.

Wipe out pan and place over medium-high heat. Brown the chicken breasts (5 minutes per side). Add to slow cooker.

Combine all remaining ingredients in slow cooker.

Cook on high for 5 hours.

Serve over your favorite steamed vegetable.
