Tom

After Phillip had left, Tom had taken a shower hoping to wash away thoughts of a dark beauty that wouldn’t leave his mind. Even now his magic called out to hers. It wanted to be near her almost as much as he wanted his daughter back.

The water poured over his head and down his back. It was cool against his heated skin. Just thinking about Sage Spindle had lit a fire in him. A fire that caused him to wrap a hand around his hardened cock. He stroked it up and down his length. A sharp jolt of pleasure ripped a gasp out of him.

The sight in his mind’s eye had the full-lipped lawyer on her knees, her mouth wrapped around him. Her obsidian eyes looking up at him under full lashes, the spark of desire mixed with defiance shot through him, his orgasm hitting him in an instant.

Toweling off, Tom glanced at the papers on his bed. He could do the safe thing and drop them off at the office. It was the smart thing. While he wanted her, he knew that if something went wrong between them he might lose any chance he had at getting Evie back.

No, the intelligent thing to do would be to keep his distance. Be civil and helpful but nothing more.

Standing in Sage’s apartment, his mind cursed him for his lack of control, but his magic thrummed in his veins. The scent of her was all around him. In every inch of her apartment. It wrapped around him like a blanket and found its way inside of him where it left him hard and wanting. Sometimes he was very stupid indeed.

“I like your place,” he said conversationally, glancing around the room, the fat white cat curled up in his arms. He had always been an animal lover. One of his good friends and the lover of the Moderator was half cat. It was him that had made her aware of Tom’s plight. It was probably why the fat white cat sought him out and why she purred in his arms right now.

“Thanks.” She closed the door and turned back to him her arms crossed over her chest, the papers still clutched to her bosom. It was taking everything in him not to take her into his arms.

She looked adorable, so unlike the poised and sophisticated lawyer from earlier. Hair bundled up on her head, her feet bare and wearing the most atrocious pair of pants, she wouldn’t win any beauty contests but Tom had never been more attracted to her.

They stood there awkwardly, the tension in the room building. The cat in his arms didn’t care for the pressure around them and promptly jumped from his arms, taking off to God only knows where. With the feline gone, it left only them. If possible the thickness in the air intensified.

Sage broke the tension first, turning to a small table to set the papers down. Hands now free, she kept her back to him. Tom could taste her need and her nervousness in the air.
