Chapter 13

Bones sat in the control center, waiting for his turn to be strip-searched before he went out on his visit. It was a process he could never get used to, and he thought every officer that participated in the full strip search was gay. When he was called in to the small room for the search, he was glad to see it was old man Gibbs. Gibbs never did a full strip search because he didn’t want to look at inmates’ dicks and balls all day, just as much as they didn’t want to show them. Gibbs made Bones strip to his boxer shorts and shake them to make sure he wasn’t carrying anything out to the visiting room. When he was done, Bones got dressed and headed out through the double doors and handed his pass to the C.O. in charge.

He quickly spotted Oshiwa sitting in a corner, away from the rest of the visitors. She looked better than ever, and he was extremely glad to finally see her. The two greeted with a tight embrace, which the C.O. turned away from when Bones palmed her ass like a basketball.

“I see you ain’t lost nothing,” Bones commented on her thickness.

“I gotta keep it together the way I know you like it,” Oshiwa said.

“You better.”

The two sat down and got comfortable as Oshiwa passed him some snacks she had bought from the vending machine. The C.O.’s eyebrow raised and his neck stretched a little, trying to see what she handed Bones. “It’s a candy bar bitch! Fuck you staring all hard for?” Bones said, making sure the officer read his lips from afar.

“Fuck him; don’t get your visit terminated over his punk ass. Anyway, how you feeling?”

“I’m straight. Ready to get the fuck outta here, that’s all. These hoes wouldn’t even let me go to my own sister’s funeral.”

“It was nice though. You know I made sure that it was everything you would’ve wanted for her. Babe, I’m so sorry this happened, and I want you to know I haven’t just been sitting back kicking my feet up. I’ve been going to work on finding a way to make them niggas pay.”

Bones looked in her eyes and he read the sincerity in them.

“Oh yeah? And what you come up with?”

“Well, you know them niggas you got over there on the block ain’t thorough like that. I mean, they good for getting the money, but they ain’t about no action, you know?”

“Right,” Bones agreed.

“So I enlisted Dawson’s help.”

At first Bones didn’t see where Oshiwa was going with it.

“His soft ass ain’t gon’ buss a grape neither,” Bones assured her.

“He probably won’t, but I’m sure he knows people. A nigga gettin' money like he is and bringing in bags like that, he gotta have a few killers in the cut somewhere.”

“Yeah, you right.”

“And before you even ask me about whether I fucked him or not, the answer is yes. But I wanted to be here face-to-face when I told you, so you know it ain’t got shit to do with me feeling him or nothing like that.
