I opened my eyes when I felt someone sit on the bed. Teddy smiled down at me. I sat up and threw my arms around his neck. “I was so worried.”

He laughed lightly. “I’m fine, love. I was just coming to check on you.”

I released my hold on him. I winced when I shifted. “It still hurts.”

He looked a little worried. “Let me see it.”

His fingers brushed my skin as he raised my shirt. He lifted my shirt over my head, then tossed it aside.

I shifted, so I was on my side facing away from him.

His fingers brushed the wound. “You need to feed, love. You will heal faster if you do.”

I sighed. “Do you have bagged blood?”

He leaned over me. His hand rested on my hip. “I don’t, love. You will have to feed the old-fashioned way if you wish to live with me.” His lips brushed the skin of my back. He laid gentle kisses along my spine.

My skin tingled as his lips explored my back. I liked how he made me feel. I didn’t feel pressured to do anything. I was completely relaxed. “You know I don’t like …” I gasped in surprise. The slight pinch, then overwhelming pleasure from his bite made my body sag.

He released me after a second or two. “You like it. You cannot lie to me, love. It just scares you.” His voice was a low, seductive whisper.

I rolled slowly. He shifted, so he could look down at me. I smiled up at him. I brushed my fingertips along his jaw. “Maybe you’re right. You can’t indulge me, just for tonight?”

He smiled, then lowered his lips to mine. He kissed me gently. It wasn’t a passionate or heated kiss. It was more of a playful kiss. He broke the kiss, then looked at me. “I suppose … for tonight, you can have my blood.”

He offered me his wrist. My eyes shifted from his eyes to his wrist, then back. I didn’t want to feed from his wrist. I wanted to feed from his neck like I did with Chris. I rolled suddenly, pinning him to the bed. I pressed my body to his. I lowered my mouth to his neck. I was slightly surprised when he didn’t stop me or pull away. I thought he would as soon as I made my intentions clear. I bit down. Cool blood filled my mouth, making me moan. I drank slowly, savoring the taste of him.

He shifted suddenly, forcing me to release him. His blood dripped down my chin, as he pinned me to the bed. His hands held my wrists. I lay panting. I could still taste him. Blood ran from the wound on his neck.

His eyes glittered with amusement. “Don’t be greedy, love.”

I sighed. “You taste so good.”

He lowered his mouth to mine. He ran his tongue along my lower lip, tasting his own blood. “Mmm, you’re right … I do taste good …” His mouth trailed lower. His lips rested on my breast.
