In the transformed circuit using the base current in figure 3.18(a), re and RL are transformed into re′ and RL′. The principle of this transformation is that the voltage should remain the same:

Therefore, the relationship between the resistors is inversely proportional to that of the currents:

Now the voltage gain can be found with the formula of a voltage divider, and it can be understood that the input signal is divided into three parts with the bulk part falling on the load resistor:
