Now the marshmallow and crispy-rice-cereal mixture is stuck to my shirt, too. Plus, my arms are stuck together. For real.

I try to move my arms. My arms are buried inside the dried marshmallows. I am going to be a marshmallow-crispy-rice-cereal statue forever. And I ruined my special Valentine’s Day snack.

“Daddy!” I cry. I stomp my feet. It’s all I can move!

Daddy laughs. Then he covers his mouth.

“Sorry,” he says. He hugs me. “Oh, Bessie. What do I even do about this?”

“Ma, bong sow,” Daddy calls to Gramma. That means, “Mom, help,” in Chinese.

Gramma turns around fast. She has ginger in one hand and spring onions in the other. When she sees me looking like a marshmallow-rice-crispy statue, she laughs, too.

“Hey!” I say. But then I think how funny it is . . . and I start to laugh also.

Daddy and Gramma clean me up. We have to throw away the marshmallow-crispy-rice-cereal snack. But I save a teeny bit to give to Baby Rabbit.

Good thing Gramma made lots of my favorite mini egg pie desserts, dan tats, yesterday. There is enough to bring in for my Valentine’s Day party snack. Daddy, Gramma, and I decorate the dan tats.

We laugh and laugh the whole time. We keep remembering how I was stuck as a marshmallow-rice-crispy statue. These extrafancy dan tats are better than marshmallow-rice-crispy hearts, anyway.
